The Center for Educational Services, S205

The Center for Educational Services provides academic support in the form of tutorial assistance. Students who are registered for classes may request tutorial assistance. Tutoring offered by the CES is free of charge to the students and students can make more than one appointment weekly. Sessions are 30 minutes long but if more time is required students can book back-to-back sessions.

The CES now provides distance proctoring for online and paper-based exams from other institutions. Exams are by appointment only and must be scheduled and completed within our normal proctoring hours. Proctoring Services are provided at $35 per exam. Proctoring is provided Monday-Friday 9:00AM to 2:00PM. To schedule an appointment please contact Natasha Jackson at or 203-285-2218.

Tutoring is available online and in-person. Most tutoring is offered in groups and appointments are preferred; walk-ins can see the next available tutor. Groups are no more than 5 students in size. Drop-in tutoring is also available; modality and schedule vary by semester. Drop-in tutoring is available without an appointment for Math 0988, 0989,0902,1001,1003,1100 and 1200, and English 0910, 0930 and 0960.

Our computer lab is also open to students 5 days per week. A lab assistant is available to help students gain access to their GCC email, MyCTState, Blackboard and ALEKS. The lab assistant is also available to provide a limited tutorial for MS Teams, Bookings and Words. Students can use the computer lab to complete assignments. Fall semester hours:

Mondays and Wednesdays – 8:00AM – 7:00PM

Tuesdays and Thursdays – 8:00AM – 8:00PM

Fridays – 8:00AM – 4:00PM

English ENG 0910, 0930, 0960 Tutoring

DROP-IN:

For developmental English (ENG 0910, 0930 & 0960) no appointment is needed. However, online tutoring to ensure a one-on-one session reserve your spot. To reserve a spot for virtual tutoring click on the tutor’s name that will be doing online session. This will take you to the MS Bookings calendar where you can select the preferred date and time of your session.

Math 0988, 0989, 1001, 1003, 0901, 0902 AND 1200 Tutoring

Developmental math (0988, 0989, 1001, 1003, 0901,0902 and 1200) no appointment is needed. All sessions will be hosted in S205.
