March 10th- Campus Activities Board event

Escape Room CSI, March 10th 10:00am-12:00pm

Tommy Bennetti is a local crime boss. He has hired you to discover the identity of two shooters who committed a mob hit at his club last Tuesday. Your mission? You must sort through all the evidence before the police officers trace the connection back to Tommy Bennetti. All clues are delivered electronically, and players can participate with a laptop or tablet. To access this Escape Room, please be on the lookout for additional information in further communication.

Escape Room teams can have up to ten players where people will be in a 3D game environment while communicating with people over Zoom. Sign-ups will start at 10:00am and will be open until 12:00pm. Your team will have one hour to play the room.

March 11th- Campus Activities Board event

Escape Room, Zombie Desert, March 11th 2:00pm-4:00pm

Life hasn’t been the same since zombies took over, but you’ve had it better than most. You live in a secure community – the zombies are on the outside. You and your team are scavengers heading out into the zombie-invested world to collect items needed for the community, it hasn’t been so bad so, you all have searched wider outside out of the secured community.

Last night is different than the other times. You were in an accident, losing your vehicle and are wounded miles from home. The zombies are all around as it gets darker outside, you have an abandoned house. Your mission is to stay alive until the morning to get back home.

Zombie Desert is a virtual, interactive escape room designed of teams of 3-8 people. You will be in a 3D environment while communicating over Zoom. To sign up, please be on the lookout for our link to signing up the day of the event. Sign-ups will start at 2pm for immediate play and you will have one hour to do so. Last time to sign up will be at 4pm.

Virtual Bingo, March 19th 2:00pm-3:00pm

Join us on March 19th for Virtual Bingo at 2pm over Zoom. Like the classic Bingo, players will be sent virtual playing cards and over Zoom will anxiously wait for numbers on their Bingo boards to appear. From standard bingo, four corners, to shapes, players will be able to interact and have a fun time with others.

Sungbeats is a New York native who is an award-winning beatboxer and live loop extraordinaire who has developed his craft for over 13 years. An impeccable talent, Sungbeats makes organic, engaging, high-energy sounds through vocal sampling his own sounds in real time. Join us on March 26th at 4pm over Zoom to learn, watch, and hear about basic drum sounds, vocal scratching, and sound effects. He will also create a custom song for Gateway too!

Live Concert from Akua Naru, Friday, March 26th from 7:30pm – 8:15pm

Description - Join us for a live performance from global poet, producer, MC and rapper Akua Naru! Akua is a New Haven native, who has performed with a ton of big names and who's band members have played for Lauryn Hill, Puff Daddy, and others. A live Q&A will directly follow the performance. Fun fact, Auka is currently working on a transformative project with Brown University in building a collection to document the history of female rappers, something that has not been formally done before.
