Connecticut Basic Boating

 
 
This 10-hour course, taught by volunteers or employees of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental (DEEP) Boating Division, is designed to fulfill the requirements for the Connecticut Safe Boating Certificate and the Personal Watercraft Operator's Certificate. Students must attend all classes. Participants less than 17 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

 

Spring 2017 Courses

April 10 – April 17 (M,W,M) 3 days, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
May 9 – May 16 (T, TH, T) 3 days, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm
 
Payment is due upon registration. There are multiple ways to register:

  • In Person: Gateway Community College, Downtown Campus, 20 Church Street, New Haven, CT 06510
    • Park in the Temple Street parking garage.  Please bring in your parking ticket to get validated by our security
    • Go to Room N104 (Continuing Education and Workforce Development) to complete the
    • registration form.

 

  • Email: Download the registration form and only complete the following sections:
    • First and Last Name
    • Email address
    • Gateway ID (if you know it and have attended GCC before)
    • Date of Birth
    • Address (Street, city, state, zip)
    • Phone number
    • Scan and email the completed form to pwalsh@gatewayct.edu. Please DO NOT include your payment information or social security number. We will call you for that information.

 

  • Fax: Download the registration form only complete the following sections:

This class is held at Gateway Community College’s downtown campus, however it is run through the State of Connecticut, Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. For more information about the course content or additional watercraft safety classes, please refer to the DEEP website.
