CDL CLASS A & B TRAINING—NEW!

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, truck drivers may earn between $41,000 and $63,000 per year. Additionally, many companies that employ full-time drivers offer benefits, such as medical and dental insurance, 401k retirement plan options, life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and more.

This training program fully prepares you to meet the State of Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicle's  requirements and give you the hands-on training that employers demand. You can complete your training and CT DMV Road test in as little as 4 to 6 weeks depending on your schedule and your experience.

Gateway and its partners will prepare you for all aspects of the CDL license process, including skills exam and road test. Road training is scheduled on a 1-to-1 basis. Students will work with the trainer to set a time that works best for their schedule. Participants will have the option to take a Free Evaluation if there is some relevant driving experience that will open the option for a shorter "refresher" program.

Students will be provided with practical direction and study materials to obtain the following endorsements: Hazardous Materials, Tanker, Combination Vehicles, TWIC, and Passenger (for bus).

Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) fees, Physical fees, and Drug testing fees are the responsibility of the students and are not included in the cost of the course.

Before you can train and test for your CDL:

  1. You need to complete a self certification application which can be found on the DMV website. This MUST be completed ten (10) days prior to sitting for the DMV written test. The DMV requires proof of self-certification.
  2. A physical exam must be completed by a CT Certified Medical Examiner. A list of examiners can be found on the following website: https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/medical/national-registry-certified-medical-examiners
  3. You must supply the results of your DOT Drug and Alcohol test to Gateway.
  4. A Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) is required for the operation of a commercial vehicle while under the instruction of a licensed CDL operator. For more information on required documents to obtain your permit, please visit http://www.ct.gov/dmv/cwp/view.asp?a=805&q=519432
Gateway requires copies of all paperwork!

After completing the above tasks, providing copies of paperwork to Gateway, and making payment to ENTECH, you will be scheduled for training and testing for your CDL Class B seven (7) days a week in Seymour, and a more limited schedule at a location in Meriden.

Classes are forming every day. Students are accepted on an on-going basis.
