  • Business Professional & Office Assistant Training Certificate Designed to equip administrative support professionals with technical and customer service skills required to compete in a fast-paced office environment. Students will learn to prioritize tasks, streamline office procedures, take minutes, compose e-mails, edit office correspondence and provide excellent customer service. Classroom hours are conveniently arranged in the evening to accommodate working professionals. This program is 22 weeks.  
  • Business Analyst Certificate Why not leverage your college education and step into an exciting career as a 'Business Analyst'. This is one of the “in-demand” fields within the IT sector and it doesn't require a computer science or programming background. Information Technology Business Analyst job openings are expected to grow by 22% over the next 10 years and offer students an excellent career path that can provide excellent pay and benefits.
  • Bookkeeping Certificate Training  Designed for individuals interested in entering the field of bookkeeping and working in payroll, accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The curriculum covers digital applications with emphasis on QuickBooks for Windows. This is a 22-week program. Students may also add office assistant skills or additional computer training if needed. 
  • Medical Office Assistant Training Certificate Designed to prepare the student with the specialized knowledge, administrative skills, and office protocols required to successfully work in medical offices, long-term care facilities, and medical insurance companies.  
  • Pharmacy Technician Training Certificate A 60-hour comprehensive course to prepare students for an entry-level pharmacy technician position in a community, hospital, or long-term care setting. Topics include pharmacy-specific medical terminology, reading and interpreting prescriptions, and defining drugs by generic and brand names. Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rate, drug compounding, and dose conversion. Dispensing of prescription, inventory control, billing and reimbursement will also be discussed.
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)  The Emergency Medical Technician program is a comprehensive 200-hour course designed to prepare a candidate to become nationally certified as an EMT. The successful student may seek employment as an ambulance EMT, firefighter, or police officer or complete training prior to entry into the Armed Forces.
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) Training Program Patient Care Technicians (PCT) work hands-on with patients by helping them with their activities of daily living, taking vital signs, performing electrocardiography (ECG) and drawing blood. PCT’s work in settings such as hospitals and rehabilitation centers. Since, PCT’s work with patients on a daily basis, they need to have solid communication skills and to be empathetic and attentive to their needs.
  • ServSafe Food Handler & Alcohol Training Get training in the principles of food safety and sanitation and safe serves of alcoholic beverage in food service or hospitality work settings. Upon successful completion of this program you will have the opportunity to take both the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe Food Handler and ServSafe Alcohol exam.
  • Print & Digital Media Publishing Certificate Training Program Designed to provide training and hands-on experience in graphic arts, and digital production printing technology. The Desktop Publishing program is designed to build upon relevant backgrounds and enhance previous industry experience with the most up to date computer skills necessary in today's job market. The instruction is in a Macintosh-based environment with some cross training in IBM/Microsoft-compatible platforms.
  • Web Development Certificate This fast-paced professional certification program, is designed to teach ‘in demand’ web development skills including PHP, MySQL, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3. This non-credit Web Development Certificate program prepares students for professional web developer careers, including those who are interested in developing functional aspects of websites including database integration, programming, and other server-side components. 
  • Web Design Certificate with ACA Dreamweaver Exam voucher  Designed for students, working adults, artists, and designers interested in exploring the expanding field of web design. The full course sequence provides the foundational skills required for those wishing to build website portfolios for personal and professional applications. Students with previous web design experience will also find current topics and new approaches to update their web design practices. 
  • CDL CLASS A & B TRAINING - NEW!  This training program fully prepares you to meet the State of Connecticut Department Of Motor Vehicle's requirements and give you the hands-on skills training that employers’ demand. You can complete your training and CT DMV road test in as little as 3 to 5 weeks! Gateway and its partner ENTECH will prepare you for all aspects of the CDL license process including written exam, skills exam, and the road test which is administered by the DMV at our CDL training facility in Middletown.
  • Distribution & Supply Chain Logistics with Powered Industrial Forklift Certification Provides the skills and core competency areas, defined by MSSC’s industryled, nationally validated skills standards, needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics, including product receiving, product storage, order processing, packaging and shipment, inventory control, safe handling of hazardous materials, evaluation of transportation modes, customs, and dispatch and tracking operations.
  • HVAC Licensing Programs -- NEW! Gateway has partnered with ENTECH to offer two of the most sought after HVAC licenses. Offered both parttime and full time, these training programs provide the knowledge and skills needed to obtain employment as an apprentice in the HVAC industry. In order to become fully licensed, graduates of this program must complete the required number of on-the-job apprenticeship hours. Gateway's partner ENTECH, has the ability to assist with apprenticeship placements upon successful completion of an HVAC program. 
  • Automotive Lube Technician Certificate This 60-hour training is modeled after leading manufacturers and is provided by tenured Gateway Automotive Department faculty. Through a combination of state-of-the-art computer-based instruction, hands-on training and proficiency testing students will become skilled in providing comprehensive preventive maintenance.
  • Small Engine Repair & Technology Certificate The Small Engine Repair & Technology program provides classroom and hands-on training to learn to inspect, service and repair motorized power equipment. This field prepares an individual for occupations such as a small engine mechanic, technician for generators, snow blowers, lawn mowers, tractors, personal watercraft and marine engines. This 16-week course meets twice a week at Gateway in North Haven. Instruction is provided by tenured Gateway Automotive Department faculty.
