Connecticut Community Colleges faculty, presidents and deans gathered April 21 at the State Capitol for the 30th anniversary of The Barnes Seminar. Gateway Community College (GCC) was represented by past participant Professor Kim Shea and The Learning Center (TLC)/past participant Professor Teresa Russo.

The Barnes Seminar is run by Connecticut Community College’s Center for Teaching and is one of the longest running Great Teachers’ Seminars in the country. The two-and-a-half day residential program includes workshops during which faculty members share teaching challenges and successes and identify innovations in teaching. All twelve of Connecticut’s Community Colleges are recognized at the seminar and quotes from past participant Alice Emery and Larry Russick were read.

Professor Martha Hayes was also recognized as a GCC past Barnes staff member.

Gateway would like to congratulate everyone who participated in the Barnes Seminar this year and recognize our faculty and staffs' many accomplishments.
