When will I be paid?

Checks are distributed every other Thursday.  There is a two week interval between the date of a check and the period for which you are paid.

Where do I claim my check?  Can my checks be mailed directly to my home?

You can choose to either have your check directly deposited into your bank account or pick up your check in the Human Resources Office, N324.  If you choose to pick up your check, then it is available the Thursday of your pay-week after 3:00 PM.  If you are unable to pick up your check before Friday afternoon of your pay-week, then it will be mailed to your residence.

What should I do if I lose my check?

Please come to our Human Resources office N234 and request to complete a “lost check affidavit.”  You will be asked to provide the date of the missing check and a picture ID.  If you are unable to complete an affidavit at our office, you may request to have the affidavit mailed to you (please note that the affidavit must be notarized).  The Office of the State Treasurer will issue a replacement check within two to four weeks of receiving a completed lost check affidavit.

How long are State of Connecticut checks valid?  What should I do if I find an old, expired check?

State of Connecticut checks are valid for six months.  If your check is less than one year old, it can be returned to our main office for reissue. If your check is older than one year, the funds have most likely been escheated to the Treasury’s Unclaimed Property Division. You can check the Treasury’s website to see if your name appears on the unclaimed property list.

Can I request copies of my check stubs?

You can now access CORE-CT to view your check stubs. Please refer to Viewing Your Paycheck Online for information on how to view/print check stubs that are up to two years old.

Can I request W-2 reissues for previous years?

You may request W-2 reissues by contacting Mary-Lynn Labonty at (203) 285-2535.  W-2 reissues for years including, and after, 2003 generally take two weeks to process.  Please allow ample time for processing of reissues prior to 2003.
