Gateway Executive Mentoring Program

Gateway Executive Mentoring, or GEM, is a volunteer mentoring network dedicated to enhancing the education and career development of GCC students. By participating in this program students will be paired with a professional executives and receive individualized help with career planning, resume preparation, job shadowing, networking opportunities, lasting professional relationships and more.

Students who participate in the GEM program are required to keep their grades up and to work diligently in their pursuit of building a personal network that will help them in their chosen career field. Participants must sign a student mentor agreement and agree to the expectations of the program.

In 2015 Gateway Community College and the Gateway Community College Foundation joined forces to establish a program called the Gateway Executive Mentoring (GEM) that would give select GCC students access to corporate mentors.

The GEM program consists of a volunteer mentoring network dedicated to enhancing the education and career development of GCC students. Professionals interested in mentoring a Gateway Community College student are invited to contact Mary Ellen Cody, dean of Development and Community Partnerships at mcody@gatewayct.edu.
