High School Partnership Program
This program provides the opportunities for a junior or senior to experience college while still in high school. In order for a student to participate, his/her high school must have a partnership contract signed and on file with the college. The tuition and fees for students in this program are paid for by the Board of Trustees and apply toward the General Fund credit classes only. Home-schooled students who have completed their high school program of study and have earned a State Equivalency Diploma may be admitted as degree-seeking or non-degree seeking, full or part-time. Home-schooled students will be required to submit an Admissions application, and required fee, take the College ACCUPLACER academic assessment and per state law, provide the documentation that they have been immunized against Measles, Mumps and Rubella and Varicella.
Home-schooled students who do not have a high school diploma may still attend Gateway Community College but only as part-time, not-degree seeking students. Home-schooled students seeking admission must schedule an appointment with the Director of Admissions or Associate Director prior to registering for classes.
On a space available basis, individuals 62 years of age and older are eligible for a waiver of tuition, general, and application fees. Proof of age is required. Senior Citizens seeking a waiver must register during the special registration session held at the end of the regular registration period. Senior Citizens are required to pay all Lab and Studio fees at the time of registration. Waivers are not granted for classes offered through Workforce Development and Continuing Education, or for special fees.
Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and the Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
Individuals who qualify for TAA/WIA must make an appointment with an an official at the Admissions Office.
