What type of Gateway student are you?
There are various types of new students who attend the community college. The admissions guides below are based on the type of student you will become.
A new student is anyone who has never attended another higher education institution and is attending Gateway for the first time with the intention of obtaining a degree, certificate, or transferring to another institution.
A transfer student is anyone who has attended another higher education institution prior to Gateway Admission.
A readmit student is defined as any student whose last semester of attendance at Gateway was over two years ago.
An international student is a student on an F-1 visa or would like to apply for an F-1 (student) visa.
A non-degree seeking student is anyone interested in enrolling in individual courses, but who is not interested in pursuing a degree or certificate program at GCC.
A distance-learning only student is anyone who is taking only online courses at Gateway.
A credit-free student is someone taking courses for personal development or enrichment that are not for college credit.
The College has special agreements with various groups that fall outside the categories mentioned above. These include High School Partnerships, Home School, TAA/WIA, and Senior Citizens. Click above to review admissions information for these groups.
